What does “Agape” mean, anyway?

The Greek word “Agape” is pronounced (ă-gă-pā) or (aw-gaw-pay), which literally means God’s unconditional love. Webster’s Dictionary defines Agape as: unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another: as (1): the fatherly concern of God for humankind (2): brotherly concern for others.

When God talks about the sort of love we are to have as in 1 John 3:18; “Dear children, let us not love (Agape) with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” He asked us to love with action and He demonstrated that love for us in the most well-known verse there is in the Bible, John 3:16; “For God so loved (Agape’d) the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever should believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

God’s Agape love does not enable one to stay the same, however, it does meet us at our point of need and works from there. God knew we could not correct our sin problem, or any other problem for that matter, on our own. He gave us what we needed which was Jesus, then supplied us with the Holy Spirit to continue to walk in our faith.

Agape Source Financial will do the same thing, we will meet people at their point of need and provide the tools necessary to learn and then continue to walk on the correct path. It is not a “hand-out” but a “hand-up” to reach the place that God has called all His children to be. We cannot be a part of the problem by ignoring the problems that face the Body of Christ today, however; we can and would like to be part of the solution.

Solution: a : an action or process of solving a problem b : an answer to a problem : explanation; specifically : a set of values of the variables that satisfies an equation.- Webster’s dictionary
